The original German poem and illustration are cut in the same maple block and printed in several colors in a unique process developed by the artist. Two versions are available as well as individual prints.
Book
Each double spread comprises a text and its illustration. The artist’s English translation is hand set in Monotype Bembo on the left page, facing the German text on the right. Printed on Rives paper on an 1897 Golding platen letterpress, each book is hand-bound with a linen spine and a cover of paper made by the artist. 32 pages.

The woodcuts have been individually hand inked in the artist’s unique painterly process and then pulled on paper made by the artist especially for this edition. The portfolio includes a title page, a half title, and the twelve poems, and comes in a beautiful paper portfolio folder.
